An introduction: Mitchel Wubben

WUA! stands for growth. We want to grow as an organization, we want to grow as people. We want to do slightly better each day, and for that we need a dream team! In May 2016, Mitchel Wubben joined us to live dreams together, and to succeed digitally. It is about time for an introduction!

Nice to have you here, Mitchel. How did you end up with us?

“That’s a long story. Two years ago I did an internship as a digital marketer with Samsung Benelux. I was responsible for the migration from the old website to the new one. To test the success of this new website, it needed to be tested. And so I ended up at WUA! With WUA! I became really enthusiastic due to the positive atmosphere in the office, so I decided to actively follow the company after my internship as well. I followed a WUA! Digital Marketing masterclass, for example. It was an easy decision: I want to work for WUA! When I moved to Amsterdam and obtained my degree I decided to contact WUA! immediately, without there being a specific vacancy for me, incidentally 😉

We’re hiring! Check out or vacancies.

If you could only name one thing: what do you think would be the very best thing about working at WUA!?

“Growing! Both in terms of expertise and the digital field, and as a person.”

On LinkedIn we read that you have started calling yourself “online guru and researcher”. Could you explain?

“The downside to applying for a job without a vacancy is that you can end up somewhere without knowing exactly what your role is. Because of this, Daan and I decided to choose a nice, suitable position, with two sides to it. On the one hand the position of researcher, because I’m going to be doing a lot of research for WUA!. On the other hand, “online guru” because with this title I also wanted to shape my passion for digital.”

What is your dream ambition?

“To become the best media psychologist in The Netherlands. Or even better, in the whole world.”

You’ve been on with us since May 1st: how would you describe the average WUA person?

“In one word: proud. I would also say: enthusiastic, happy, passionate, energetic, or motivated. But I think it all stems from this pride the people at WUA! have, in their work and the organization. They’re proud of the way we work. Proud of the clients we work with and for. And proud of the products we all stand behind.”

What is your motto?

“Just do it! This has led to many fun, bizarre, special situations in my life. Some probably more responsible than others. But I will never regret doing something. I’d be more likely to regret not doing something.”

Which (business) book should everyone read, in your opinion? And why?

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Found it on a dusty bookshelf of a hostel in Pai, Thailand. Get the maximum out of the present, and don’t worry too much about the future and the past. For people who don’t like reading; the film YES man with Jim Carrey. Just say “yes” to life, and live this life consciously.”
